Ecotreasures Online Story
I’m Damien, a lifelong Northern Beaches local who grew up surfing, snorkelling and exploring Sydney’s beaches. With a Bachelor of Environmental Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, I combine my passion for the ocean with practical experience in environmental education. I’ve also taught at TAFE, helping learners develop their knowledge and skills.
For more than 15 years, my team and I have delivered guided Manly snorkel tours, Sydney eco tours, private day trips and marine education experiences. We’ve provided educational programs for Australian primary schools, high schools, study tour groups, alongside experiences for universities, international visitors and corporate groups.
Our team is made up of local Australian guides with firsthand knowledge of Sydney’s beaches, marine life, ocean conditions and coastal stories. As a Water Safety Trainer with the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Association, I also share practical beach and ocean-safety knowledge to help people better understand coastal environments.
Ecotreasures Online brings that real-world experience to people wherever they are. Through online courses and self-guided activities, we aim to help more people connect with Ecotreasures, learn about marine and coastal environments, and discover meaningful ways to care for the natural world. It’s an opportunity to learn at your own pace, follow your interests and take your curiosity beyond the screen.
Our courses and self-guided activities are non-accredited and designed for personal interest and informal learning. They do not lead to a nationally recognised qualification or replace formal training, professional supervision or activity-specific safety requirements.
